2010 was an exciting year for technique. Apple released its first IPAD and Nissan introduced the world to the Leaf. 2024 met the 14th birthday of one of the most popular electric models, the Nissan Leaf. Here let’s go through the development history of the Leaf car.
The first generation of Nissan Leaf, ZE0 was launched into market in 2010. The following 2 years, 2010-2012 were the brilliant years for ZE0. It went on sale in Japan and the United States in December 2010, followed by European countries and Canada in 2011, and worldwide in 2012. As of September 2015, the Nissan Leaf was sold in 46 countries and territories worldwide and was also the world's best-selling pure electric vehicle, with over 192,000 units sold worldwide since December 2010.
As a pure electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf produces no tailpipe emissions and greenhouse gas emissions while driving, while also reducing dependence on oil. 99% of the materials on the vehicle body can be recycled.
The car uses an all-electric drivetrain, including an 80 KW (110 HP) /280N·m (210lb·ft) electric motor, a 24 KWH lithium-ion battery pack and, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a maximum range of 175 km (109 miles, depending on city conditions).
The following 5 years between 2013-2017, Nissan released the next generation, the Leaf AZE0. Loaded with either 24KWH or 30 KWH battery. The car range is significantly extended with the bigger capacity battery.
After the year 2017, the next generation of Leaf, ZE1 spectacularly launched into market. Loaded with either 40KWH or 62KWH much bigger battery. With no range anxiety, owners can enjoy their beloved car free of burden.
