Preliminary research data shows that China’s lithium battery shipments in 2024Q1 were 200GWh, a year-on-year increase of 18%. Among them, the shipments of power and energy storage batteries were 149GWh and 40GWh respectively, a year-on-year increase of 19% and 14% respectively.
In terms of technical routes, the shipment volume of power ternary batteries in 2024Q1 was 47GWh, accounting for 32% of power batteries, an increase of 2.6 percentage points compared with 2023.

2. The growth rate of the four main materials exceeds 20%, and the output of lithium batteries is greater than the shipment volume.
According to research data, China’s cathode material shipments in 2024Q1 were 574,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 23%. Among them, 370,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate materials were shipped, 156,000 tons of ternary materials were shipped, 20,000 tons of lithium cobalt oxide materials were shipped, and 28,000 tons of lithium manganate materials were shipped.
In 2024Q1, China's diaphragm shipments were 3.9 billion square meters, a year-on-year increase of 25%. Among them, 900 million square meters of dry process separators were shipped and 3 billion square meters of wet process separators were shipped.
China's anode material shipments in 2024Q1 were 410,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 21%. Among them, the shipments of artificial graphite and natural graphite materials were 337,000 tons and 75,000 tons respectively.
China's electrolyte shipments in Q1 2024 were 260,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 26%.
